How I got started at Corn States Metal:
I started back in the late 70s cleaning and sweeping floors. In the 80s I went into the Marines, and from there, I worked in the HVAC industry in Iowa, Colorado and Indiana until 1991, when I accepted a position at Corn States. I worked my way up through the ranks: pre-apprentice, apprentice, journeyman, foreman, project manager and finally my current position as estimator.
Why I like working for Corn States Metal:
From my days of sweeping floors, I was impressed with the skills, quality and integrity of the people I met from Corn States. That’s why when the opportunity came in 1991 to work for Corn States, I left a lucrative position in Indiana and took a large cut in pay to come back to Iowa and be part of their team. The relationships that have been forged and what I have been able to learn and be a part of has made the move all worth it. What I like most these days is working hard as a team to provide quality projects on time and on budget and in every way try to exceed the expectations of our customers and partners in the construction industry. Honesty, integrity and commitment to excellence is the driving force behind everything I do.
